Kevin D. Plancher, MD

Kevin D. Plancher, MD, MS, FACS, FAAOS, is a leading orthopaedic surgeon and sports medicine expert with extensive practice in knee, shoulder, elbow and hand injuries. Dr. Plancher is an Associate Clinical Professor in Orthopaedics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in NY. He is on the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Journal of Medicine and Sports and the American Journal of Orthopedics.

Dr. Plancher graduated from Trinity College with B.S., Major in Biochemistry and Chemistry. He then attended Georgetown University School of Medicine, where he received an M.S. in Physiology and an M.D. from their school of medicine (Cum Laude). He did his residency at Harvard’s combined Orthopaedic program and a Fellowship at the Steadman-Hawkins clinic in Vail, Colorado where he studied shoulder and knee reconstruction. Dr. Plancher continued his relationship with the Clinic for the next six years as a Consultant. Dr. Plancher has served as team physician for many athletic teams, including high school, college and national championship teams. Dr. Plancher is an attending physician at Beth Israel Hospital in New York City, Stamford Hospital in Stamford, CT and Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, NY and has offices in Manhattan and Cos Cob, Connecticut.

Dr. Plancher lectures extensively domestically and internationally on issues related to Orthopaedic procedures and injury management. From 2001 through 2010, Dr. Plancher was named among the Top Doctors in the New York Metro area. He has been appointed the New York State Representative for the Council of Delegates to the American Academy of Orthopaedic surgeons. For the past six years Dr. Plancher has received the Order of Merit (Magnum Cum Laude) for distinguished Philanthropy in the Advancement of Orthopaedic Surgery by the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation. In 2001, he founded “The Orthopaedic Foundation for Active Lifestyles”, a non-profit foundation focused on maintaining and enhancing the physical well-being of active individuals through the development and promotion of research and supporting technologies.

Joseph M. Bellapianta, MD

Joseph M. Bellapianta, MDJoseph M. Bellapianta, MD, MS, is an orthopaedic surgeon with additionally sub-specialty training in arthroscopic surgery and treatment of sports-related injuries.

Dr. Bellapianta earned a bachelor’s degree in biology at Franklin & Marshall college and his masters degree in biology at Fairleigh Dickinson University. He received his medical degree at Albany Medical College where he graduated Cum Laude and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He also was the recipient of the Victor & Ethel Cermak Tompkins Alumni Scholarship at Albany Medical College for academic excellence.

He performed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Albany Medical Center mastering skills in trauma and joint reconstruction.

Dr. Bellapianta then completed a Sports Medicine fellowship at the Andrews Institute in Gulf Breeze, FL. As a fellow Dr. Bellapianta worked side-by-side with world renowned orthopaedic surgeons Dr. James Andrews and Dr. Lonnie Paulos. The fellowship provided him with intensive exposure to all aspects of non-operative and operative musculoskeletal patient care. His team physician experience included coverage of Auburn University football and athletics, West Florida College athletics, and Flomaton, AL High School athletics.  He is currently part of the medical team for the United Football League - Hartford Colonials, Long Island Lizards Major League Lacrosse and Manhattanville College athletics.

Dr. Bellapianta has published several scientific articles in peer review journals and has presented this research at numerous national and regional meetings.

Dr. Bellapianta’s surgical interests include arthroscopic and open treatment of the hip, knee, ankle, shoulder and elbow injuries, joint replacement surgery, fracture care and general orthopaedics.

Dr. Bellapianta is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.

Mark J. Harary, MD, CAQSM

Mark J. Harary, MD, CAQSMMark J. Harary, MD, CAQSM, is a fellowship trained, board certified sports medicine physician, who specializes in the non-surgical treatment of musculoskeletal injuries.

Dr. Harary is originally from Brooklyn, NY. He is excited to relocate back to the New York area after working in New Jersey for the last several years.

Dr. Harary completed his undergraduate education at the University of Michigan. He then obtained his M.D. from Ross University, where he graduated with honors.

Dr. Harary completed a residency in Family Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center – Shadyside Hospital. During his residency, he had the opportunity to work with the team physicians for the University of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also served as a football team physician for Pittsburgh City Public High Schools. Following his residency, he completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois. During his fellowship, Dr. Harary worked with sports teams from Quincy University, Culver Stockton College, and the University of Missouri. He has also served as team physician for Stockton College and Central Regional High School.

It was during his fellowship, that Dr. Harary became involved with the Arthritis Foundation. He continues to be involved with this charitable, non-profit organization as a lecturer on arthritis. He served on the planning committee for the Arthritis Walk in Ocean City, NJ in 2009 and 2010.

Dr. Harary specializes in treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal problems. These include, but are not limited to: sports injuries, arthritis, concussions, sprains/strains, fractures, tendon and ligament injuries, back and neck pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, stress fractures and overuse injuries. He believes in building strong relationships with his patients and works with them to treat their problem, while also focusing on education and prevention to prevent future issues.

Dr. Harary is a member of the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine and the American Board of Family Medicine. He sees patients at the Manhattan, NY and Cos Cob, CT offices.

Michael L. Mangonon, DO

Michael L. Mangonon, D.O. is a fellowship trained hand surgeon who specializes in the treatment of acute and chronic conditions of the hand, wrist, and elbow. This includes fractures, tendon/ligament/nerve/vascular injuries, nerve compression, arthritis, and congenital anomalies. He is a native New Yorker raised on Staten Island. He completed his undergraduate studies at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. His medical degree was obtained from Nova Southeastern University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale. He returned to New York to complete a residency in general surgery at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn. He then completed a hand surgery fellowship at The University at Buffalo.
