Jaspreet “Jessy” Sekhon, MD

Jaspreet “Jessy” Sekhon, MD Dr. Sekhon was raised in South Jersey and was accepted simultaneously into college and medical school at Northwestern University as a member of the Honors Program in Medical Education (a 7 year accelerated honors program). He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Henry Ford Health System, Detroit, Michigan. His orthopaedic training was in the setting of both a high volume, urban level I trauma center as well as an equally high volume suburban environment for sports, foot/ankle, and hand injuries. During his residency, he also provided orthopaedic care to the Detroit Red Wings, Tigers, and Lions.

Following his residency, he completed a sports medicine fellowship at the UCLA Medical Center. Here, he received advanced surgical training in a variety of cutting edge sports medicine techniques including arthroscopic management of shoulder injury, revision ACL reconstruction, meniscus repair, as well as elbow, ankle and extensive hip arthroscopy. He also performed numerous hip arthroscopies, which has become the latest "hot" technique for treating labral tears and impingement in patients with hip pain. As assistant team physician for the prestigious UCLA athletics department, he provided on field and training room coverage for elite UCLA Division I athletes in football, basketball, soccer, track, gymnastics, volleyball, swimming, golf and baseball.

Dr. Sekhon has lectured extensively during his post-graduate orthopaedic and sports medicine training on topics including shoulder instability, elbow injury, and ACL reconstruction. He treats all types of orthopaedic injuries with a specialty focus in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgeries of the hip, shoulder, knee, elbow, and ankle. He also performs joint replacement surgery for the knee, hip and shoulder, and provides basic trauma care as well.

Dr. Sekhon’s goals are to restore quality of life to all his patients, optimizing non-surgical, rehabilitative treatment for a wide variety of orthopaedic conditions, resorting to surgery as a last resort or sooner if indicated. Patient office visits focus not only on diagnosis and treatment, but patient education and involvement in decision-making, which are equally (if not more) important. Although he has extensive experience with elite athletes, his focus is returning all athletes to competition, be it high-level athletes or the weekend warriors of all ages. He also provides hands-on athletic care to community high schools, colleges, and recreational teams.
